Blend Tutorial

ALL THE IMAGES ARE RESIZED, DRAG THEM TO YOUR URL BAR TO SEE THEM IN FULL SIZE.

Do not take this tutorial and claim it as your own, do not steal my blend, and PROVIDE CREDIT! If I find too many people breaking these few simple rules, this tutorial will be taken down.

With this tutorial you will learn how to create a basic blend that will look something like this:

The Blend above was colorized and edited in different ways, so don't expect your result to have those effects. Although it is simple, this is because this tutorial is for BEGINNERS. If you like the effect I used, be sure to watch for the tutorial i'll make on how to do it. =D

I got my images, featuring Becky Newton, from Ugly-is-in.com, thanks!

Now let's get started, of course you'll need to open your program and open all of the images your using!
1. Select your lasso tool, make sure its set to freehand, and set the feather to 30%.
2. Select the image, you'd like to place first, then the next one you'd like to use, paste it on top of the other and arrange it to where you'd like it, don't worry if you can't see part of the other image right now.
3. Freehand a long oval shape with your lasso tool on the edge of the picture, and hit your delete button about 5 times, or until no edges are visible any longer.

4. Now we'll be doing some harder things, choose your eraser tool and select airbrush soft round 45%. We'll be using this this to get some more of the edge away from overlapping your first image, trace where you presume is the outline of the person in the first image, we just want to get a general idea here, if your not sure exactly where the outline is, set image 2 to about 50% opacity for the time being! Once your done outlining the first image put it back to 100%, remember not to get to close to the person/object in image #2 yet.

5. Now we're gonna use the zoom tool, fun, huh? zoomzoomzoom. Just click it about 3 times, so it'll be zoomed to about 300%. Now select the eraser again, and set it to about 10% airbrush, or if you have a really steady hand select a regular old 10px.
6. You'll want to erase the rest of what's left of image 2 covering up parts of image 1 you dont want covered, so slowly and gently trace around image #2's outline, and then whatevers left, go back to "actual size" and check to make sure you didn't miss anything. =)
or
7. Paste image #3 on top of image #1 and under image #2, this helps with getting all the spots you dont want there. Basically your only erasing one image.

8. Repeat what you did when erasing image #2 with image #1.
9. Merge all your images together.

10. Add your own text, effects, etc.
Enjoy, and be sure to send in those results to me!
